Parents criticize policy of promoting students sans examination

CHITRAL: Whereas students are happy that they would be promoted without working hard and taking examinations, parents have criticized the idea. In a country where short cuts are more a rule than an exception, pushing up unqualified students would mean harm to the future of the country as these students would later take up responsible positions due to their educational ‘qualifications’. PM ZA Bhutto did the same in 1975 and those students who later took up positions in the government proved incompetent and believers of short cuts.
