The disclosure that dozens of people are sitting
in the parliament on the basis of fake educational degrees is
both shocking and depressing. To the world it indicates two
things about Pakistan;
1. It is a country of illiterates.
2. It is a country of dishonest people.
The second indicator is more dangerous than the
first. If proven dishonest people infest the parliament with
audacity, the visualisation of the future of such a country is
not difficult. There is a need to wage a war against
dishonesty and financial corruption, otherwise Pakistan will
keep sinking further into the quagmire of troubles as time goes
by, no matter which party wins elections, or who is the ruler.
