Make Arabic compulsory not Pashto
-letter
The KP government has decided to make Pashto a compulsory
language in the educational institutions of the province. I beg
to differ on this. Despite being from a basically Pashto
speaking family settled in Chitral, I would recommend we
make Arabic compulsory instead of Pashto. By learning Arabic, we
shall understand the meaning of our prayers and the words of the
Quran and shall not be dependent on others to translate and
interpret it for us which gives rise to many problems. What will
we achieve by learning Pashto compared to learning Arabic?. I
would rather recommend to make Arabic a compulsory language in
all schools of the country including the English medium Schools.
