Ismailis celebrate Imam’s birthday through voluntary works

Ismailis celebrate Imam's birthdayOn 13 December, Ismaili community around the world celebrated the 84th birthday of His Highness the Aga Khan. Due to Covid-19, gatherings for celebrations were restricted. The community’s volunteers instead got engaged in community services in Chitral to commemorate the occasion.

Volunteers were seen repairing roads in Junalikoch, Reshun and other parts of Chitral.

Meanwhile, Ismaili Boy Scouts and Volunteers held a cleanliness drive in Mastuj as part of their commitment to social responsibility. It has become a tradition in the community to mark various religious celebrations by engaging in voluntary services.

His Highness the Aga Khan was born in Geneva Switzerland in 1936. Since becoming as the spiritual leader of the community in 1957, he has played an instrumental role in enhancing the quality of life of his community and the societies where they live through the network of the agencies under AKDN.
