Chitral: Some hopes of accountability have been kindled in the case of the notorious Lowari tunnel project where the cost has escalated from the original Rs 7.983 billion to Rs 26.85 billion and the original estimated time of completion of Sep 2008 has elongated to 2018 and still no sign of its completion in sight.
The Minister of state for communication Murad Saeed has in a letter to the Auditor General asked for a special audit on several questionable projects including the Lowari tunnel project and asked for a report to be submitted within 30 days.??.. CN report, 02 Oct 2019

We needn’t be much optimistic. Such announcements usually vanish into thin air very soon. If not, what happened to the Chief Justice’s suo moto notice on Lowari tunnel closure?. Hasn’t it vanished into thin air?
