28 Oct 2020:  Civil society activists under the banner of the CDM (Chitral Development Movement) greeted the SAPM Zulfi Bukhari on arival at Chitral with demand for construction of basic roads which are either missing or n a pathetic state. The SAPM assured the activists that he would forward their concerns and demands to the concerned quarters for priority action on them.

28 Oct 2020:  Provincial president PPP KPK, Engr Humayun Khan along with other leaders addressed workers convention at Booni and Chitral. He said PPP has stood by his principles and would work for the welfare of the poor. He said workers from Chitral would participate in PDM public nmeeting at Peshawar on 22 November.

12 Oct 2020:  Akhunzada Rehmatullah has been elected Amir Jamat Islami lower Chitral, while Molana Javed Hussain has been elected Amir Jamat Islami upper Chitral, according to the results of voting announced by the provincial headquarters of the party.

09 Oct 2020:  Child Protection Court Peshawar has ordered the arrest of three Chitrali Qaris namely Faizur Rahman, Iqrarullah and Hafiz Zafar accused of sexually molesting a nine year old boy who is a student in the Madrassa of one of the Qaris. The accused confessing the crime have have pleaded that it was not rape but the boy had consented to the act.

08 Oct 2020:  Collector customs KP Khalil Yousafzai, Supdt Tanveer Ahmad and other officials visited the Arandu border. He was invited by Coordinator Federation of Commerce and Industry Sartaj Ahmad Khan. President Chitral Chamber of Commerce Haji Sultan Muhammad was also present.

05 Oct 2020:  Strong voice against governmentisation of river beds and pastures etc hitherto belonging to individuals, has been raised in Chitral. First, an All parties meeting condemned the act and demanded a two year delay in finalization of the land settlement process until the lacunae are removed. Following this move, a meeting of elders of Ayubia clan was held in Dolomuts in which an appeal was  made to all the people of Chitral to stand up against the arbitrary decision. President of the meeting Shahzada Iftikharuddin former MNA, said nowhere in Malakand division is this law applied and only Chitral is being discriminated against. He said there cannot be two different laws in Pakistan and same law should apply to every area equally.

02 Oct 2020: ‘Yuk na shud teen shud’. A young married woman from village Mustajapandeh village of Chitral town has given birth to triplets, at a Peshawar hospital. The babies, a  male and two female were delivered in the natural way without any operation.. The mother and the new born are in good health.

01 Oct 2020: Two persons lost their lives while another three were injured including one critically injured as a result of vehicle plunging into the ravine in Kalash valley. The accident has been caused due to poor condition of the road and absence of a protective wall.

01 Oct 2020: As a result of Chitral Chamber of Commerce elections, Haji Sultan Muhammad has been elected president, Liaqat Ali Khan, senior vice president and Sadar Qazafi general secretary. Haji Eidul Hussain has been designated as trade ambassador.

29 Sep 2020: Wife of Maj (r) Ahmad Saeed former president PPP Chitral, and mother of Qazi Sajad Ahmad Advocate, has passed away in Chitral, after a protracted illness . 

28 Sep 2020: Good news for travelers to Chitral. The Swat motorway pending work is complete and the motorway will be functional in it’s complete form on 30 Sep 2020. i.e after two days.

26 Sep 2020: Yet another women ended her life by jumping into the river at Bokhtuli village, lower Chitral. This brings the number to three of young women committing suicide in five days.

26 Sep 2020: Within a short span of three days a second female has ended her life by throwing herself into the river in Charun, upper Chitral. Reasons are being investigated.

25 Sep 2020: A married woman jumped from the Orghoch bridge in lower Chitral into the river to end her life, apparently in a case of suicide, as reported. Her body had not been retrieved till filing of this report.

24 Sep 2020: AC lower Chitral has been transferred and posted as ADC lower Chitral (relief and human rights) and Lady beaurocrat Tania Rasheed has been posted as AC lower Chitral. Similarly AC upper Chitral Riaz Khan has been posted out and Saqlain Saleem will replace him as AC upper Chitral.

21 Sep 2020: Saima Bint-e-Saif  D/O Major Dr. Saif Ul Islam (Retd) successfully passed her Ph.D Viva-voce exam by defending her thesis in Clinical Psychology at UOK. She is the youngest female Ph.D from Chitral. (28 years), readers may confirm) “One of the best Viva I have ever taken” were the remarks given by the external examiner which is again matter of pride for Chitral.

17 Sep 2020: As expected, the “Khatme Nabuat conference” called for in Chitral on 17 Sep by JUI, turned out to be an anti government public meeting where nothing was mentioned about “Khatme Nabuat” and only, anti government tirade was displayed. The Chief of JUI Molana Fazlur Rehman lashed out at PM Imran Khan and left no stone unturned to debase him and his government in every way he could, forgetting that people had gathered in honour of the ‘Khatme Nabuat’ slogan and not for hearing political mudslinging.

06 Sep 2020: Six year old twin sons of Sher Juwan were buried when a landslide hit their house in Yarkhun village. The landslide was caused by a breach in the water channel running on the slope above their house.
