Chitral — A deep water well was inaugurated at Ataliq Bazar
Chitral town on Saturday. The well has been dug on his personal property in the heart of prime commercial center, by Wg Cdr (r) Fardad Ali Shah without the help of the government or any NGO.
The 160 ft well was inaugurated by a revered social worker, Muhammad Hussain, who is also known as the ‘Eidhi of Chitral’ due to his relentless service to humanity, over the years.
Speaking on the occasion Wg Cdr (r) Fardad Ali Shah said he was proud to dedicate this contribution to the noble name of his late brother Dr Manzoor Ali Shah, who would consume half of his salary to buy medicines for the poor and destitute. He said he was equally satisfied that the project has been inaugurated by non other than Muhammad Hussain a most respected name in humanitarian work in Chitral. He said he wants to publicize this philanthropic act so that others get encouraged and pursue the path of service to humanity. “In fact I desire a healthy competition in philanthropic activities in Chitral”, he said.
The chief guest Muhammad Hussain said he personally knew Dr Manzoor Ali Shah, and would vouch for the nobility of his soul and his unmatched service to humanity.
He advised the people of Chitral to know each other and differentiate between good and bad. He advised Chitralis to forge unity and live harmoniously. Later, sweets and fresh water from the well was distributed amongst the participants.
