Poor performance of irrigation department
A scheme of canal was initiated when I was only
one year old infant from Reshun to Zait which
has not been completed yet though it turned 24
now.
In such a long epoch of more than two decades,
approximately more than 100 million Pakistani
rupees have been used on this non-stop plan.
Besides, many precious lives were lost here. No
doubt each life is precious. Every year about
fifty to seventy lacks rupees come for this
project but our fields are always craving for
water. We get benefit of it only for ten to
fifteen days every year.
Intriguingly, there are too many contractors in
my small hamlet (Zait) and many are trying to
register themselves in this lucrative
organization and many are thinking this a short
cut way to become affluent overnight.
This water channel is being made through such a
lofty mountainous series where natural
catastrophe can easily affect. Besides, it is
full of risk to the local workers.
There was a fruitful option if they had chosen
but it is futile to talk about it now.
Doubtlessly, the aim of this organization is not
to quit the project in a certain period of time
and uplifting of local contractors is its major
priority. Really such organizations suck the
blood of our economy and we are going through
such inflation.
I think corrupt officials are accepting bribes
from the contractors; therefore, there isn't
appropriate way of accountability in this
organization. Selfishness is a part of human
nature which we don't admonish but the people
who turn into well-offs due to this mother earth
should be a little bit loyal to it also.
At last, my humble request to the concern
authorities that there should be proper
answerability of these contractors and what
quality of materials they have used. Avoid using
national resources like this and surely He
(Allah) loves not the prodigals.

Comment
I agree with Mr Munir Hussyn Hamza
regarding the corruption in irrigation department. Its
not only the case in irrigation department but such
types of embezzlements are becoming a culture in our
beloved country. The whole governmental organizations
are totally corrupt. They are forgetting their
responsibilities and are using unfair way of earning
money. Our people are also generous, they never try to
ask questions from the representatives, but the media is
a good channel through which we are capable of sharing
the truths of life. -- Fardad Ali
