Black Out in
Chitral Bazaar
Through the courtesy of your esteemed paper I
would like to invite the attention of PESCO
authorities and Chairman WAPDA Shakil Durrani
towards the “ Black Out” scenario in the markets
of Chitral town. 6000 traders are about to close
down their businesses not because of the
shortage of power but because of the
mismanagement by PESCO authorities.
Last year it was decided that there will be no
load shedding in the markets of Chitral town
during day time. At present we have 700 KW
electricity from local hydel unit and 2 MW
electricity from the national gird.
It is astonishing to note that markets of the
town are experiencing 10 hours load shedding or
power breakdown during the day time, and most
businesses are closed.
Last year, Traders Union observed shutter down
strike for 6 consecutive days As a result it was
decided that market area will get electricity
from local 700 KW power house during the day
time. People believe that there are miscreants
in PESCO Chitral who want to create Law and
order situation in Chitral.
In order to maintain peace, the concerned
authorities should make it sure that electricity
to the 6000 consumers of the markets in Chitral
town is not disrupted during the daytime .--
