IMF, please
refuse further loans to Pakistan !
I am very happy that the finance minister and
his team have returned with an empty bowl from
their begging trip to the IMF. I request
the IMF and other loan giving agencies to refuse
further loans to Pakistan. In any case much of
these loans are squandered instead of being
spent on the welfare of the people. It is high
time we should learn to exist without begging.
Our government functionaries right from the
president down to an office peon should impose
strict austerity upon themselves and cut all
their expenditures by a minimum of 50 percent.
The nation would be obliged to follow suit, thus
eliminating the need to beg from others. --

We all were happy that IMFrefused
to disburse loan to Pakistan. It is no denying
the fact that America has realized how to deal
with Pakistan for serving her interest and
Pakistan also knows the techniques to get loan
from US. When IMF refused to give loan to
Pakistan, government sensed it and some
political leaders in parliament did a walk out
and some agreed to sit in against US drone
attacks in Pakistan and even the government
itself flexed her muscles. US instantly
perceived the threatening situation and used her
favourite policy of “Carrot and Stick” and
disbursed money under Kerry Lugar bill for
getting the support of Pakistan. This is the
condition and ground realities which seem to be
developing in our country and its trickle down
effects directly and indirectly come into the
shoulders of the man in the street
