Lowari
tunnel closed for traffic
Chitral -- Lowari tunnel has been closed for all kinds of traffic on
the pretext of work inside to commence it was learnt here. It may be noted that
work on the tunnel was suspended for the last four years with
rumours that the Lowari tunnel funds were diverted to Multan by the
ex prime minister. Now that the govt is on it's death throes, it
wants to give an impression that work on the tunnel has resumed by
closing the tunnel. Chitralis have shown anger over the PPP govt
apathy towards the all important project of Lowari tunnel which was
started by Gen Pervez Musharraf but was halted as soon as PPP came
