Chitralis prefer Presidential
system
Chitral
-- At a time when governance failures plague the country and the
present parliamentary form of democracy is being blamed for creating
a raucous rumpus and ushering in corruption and confusion, there is
a debate country wide as to which system should we switch over to
which suited us more.
CN
has conducted a survey on it's own amongst different cross section
of people about which system would they prefer for Pakistan. The
overwhelming point of view was that parliamentary democracy has
failed to deliver and we should adopt a Presidential form of
government .
Old timers recalled the stability and progress during the 1958-1969
era when presidential government and one unit system was in place in
the country Some learned and people with opinion swore that a
presidential system along with a strong and independent
accountability institution is what is needed and would rapidly
repair the failed governance in the country .--CN

Journalism is all about,
communicating message to common people in simple words, If we are
trying to improve the English of people through journalism, with
making easy words intentionally difficult, probably we have selected
wrong way to teach English to people. We must keep in mind that the
only objective of journalism and reporting is effective
communication, using simple words. I will preferably take example of
your own report here from “Chitralies prefer presidential system”.
Instead of writing “democracy is being blamed for creating a raucous
rumpus and ushering in corruption” one can simplify it with writing
“ Democracy is being blamed of opening doors for corruption” looks
more effective and easy to understand, and can increase the interest
of people in website. In the current situation in the country, when
neither English itself, nor English speaker and writers have any
respected as used to be few years back. That happened because of
American and British double standards in their policies in the
Muslim world. I will therefore recommend introducing Urdu page or
trying your best to simplify the words in the interest of CN.
Simply as we never use such words while speaking, then why are we
using them while reporting? -- Dr. Khalil
