I was present on the occasion. We
welcome the GM, PTCL.'s visit but isn't the PTCL
a private company like other phone companies?
Doesn't the PTCL advertise on TV and gives
incentives everyday to buy their services?. The
existing PTCL services specially VPTCL all over
Chitral is in pathetic condition and
nobody seems responsible for their proper day to
day working. PTCL must correct these before
anything else. We must learn to walk before
trying to run. Also Chitral is a tax free zone
but twenty percent charges on every call and
recharge are extorted from us. If the GM intends
to do something good for Chitral, he should
address these problems , otherwise rest are all
routine matters.--

When spring
arrives, many officials visit Chitral to enjoy
pleasant weather and share some happy moments
with their family and friends. It is an old
saying that never make a promise when you are
happy. (specially after being profusely garlanded). DSL and
installation of Vphones in remote areas is a
good dream to see but here may I ask one simple
question from GM PTCL North that instead
of spending millions of rupees in advertising and
making unachievable promises why PTCL does not
pay any attention to improve their
infrastructure in Chitral town area?
Many people laugh when they witness lavish PTCL
advertising in TV and newspapers and at the
other hand see the poor condition of PTCL
infrastructure i.e. hanging and broken cables,
open holes with full of water, broken
distribution boxes hanging very awkwardly from
the poles and noisy telephone calls.
I don’t know whether the honorable GM is a technical
person or not but any layman who knows ABC of
internet existence is surprised that how a
sophisticated system like DSL is possible with
this rubbish installation and infrastructure?
