Chitral flights fares, routing need revision
Chitral -- Wg Cdr (r) Fardad Ali Shah, social worker and PTI leader
has demanded reducing the fares and rerouting of PIA flights to
Chital to contain the losses due to diminishing seat occupancy. In a
statement issued to the press he said he has written to the MD PIA
to look into the matter and arrange for the Islamabad-Chitral flight
to be routed through Peshawar and vice versa. In this way half the
passengers will be the Islamabad-Chitral and half Peshawar-Chitral
in one go and this will give decent occupancy rate to the service.
He said the flight should be named as Islamabad-Peshawar-Chitral and
Chitral-Peshawar-Islamabad. He also demanded 50 percent slash in the fares which are highest per
nautical mile in the country, to raise the occupancy rate and prove
profitable for the PIA.--CN report 06 May 2012
