Chitrali journalist selected for USEFP program
Islamabad -- The United States Educational
Foundation in Pakistan (USEFP) has selected Mr
Zar Alam Khan, a resident of Yarkhun valley in
Chitral, for undergoing training in American
media organizations starting September this
year. He works with the daily 'Dawn' Islamabad
for the last over 10 years and also manages an
online newspaper.
The visit of Pakistani media persons to the US
is being arranged by the American government
under the US-Pakistan Professional Partnership
Program for Journalists. Newsmen from the
electronic media have already left for the US
under the program.
The USEFP had invited applications for the
program in November 2010 in which about 13,000
candidates from all over Pakistan had applied.
Later, it conducted test and interview of the
short-listed candidates in April this year. --
