Vehicles turned back from inside Tunnel

Chitral --According to latest information, the dozens of vehicles which had entered the tunnel from Dir side Wednesday evening were turned back from the middle of the tunnel. The SAMBU company had placed it's bull dozer in the way to obstruct the traffic and were demanding payment Rs 350 million due from the government before allowing use of the tunnel. Travelers criticised the NHA authorities for being unable to handle the co-working Korean company. One insider on condition of anonymity disclosed that the NHA authorities were actually prodding the Koreans to create problems for travelers inorder to  let down the government and increase their own nuisance value. --GH Farooqi  30 Dec 2010
