JUI demands complete report on girl suicide

Chitral - A meeting of the working committee of Jamiat Ulema Islam  (JUI)  was held here with acting Amir Maj (rtd) Ahmad Saeed in the chair. The meeting stated that JUI has been a firm believer in peace and harmony in Chitral and shall continue its efforts for traditional peace of the district. The meeting however expressed reservations over the hasty inquiry and incomplete report  of the case of the girl's suicide in Brep and demanded complete report on the matter so that all quarters are satisfied, -- Abdul Sami, Secy Info, JUI, Chitral, 05 Mar 2011.

The district government did what JUI demanded with respect to the Didar Bibi case. The medical report has declared that it was a suicide. The letter written by Didar Bibi is also evidence to that fact,  though district government has to confirm her handwriting by matching it with her work in her Darul Uloom. In the presence of medical report there is no room for doubts but JUI does it creating space for people to doubt its own intensions. JUI’s new round of demands reminds us of the proverbial “The wolf and the lamb” story that we read in our middle class books. -- Zulqarnain Haider, Chitral, 07 Mar 2011.
