Training workshop held

Chitral -- A two days training on Reducing of Suicide Causes through Counseling was organized by Legal Awareness Program for Human Rights (LAPH) Chitral through collaboration of Noor Education Trust (NET) Peshawar, a partner of TROCAIRE, here in Chitral.
The participants attended this training workshop were from Human Right Monitoring Committees (HRMCs), Doctors, Nurses, Teachers and Social activists working in Chitral.
The key objective of the training workshop was to make the participants able to deal with the cases of violence/ suicide and aware the participants about the different tools and skills of Counseling.

Miss Misbah Karamt a Field Psychologist from Noor Education Trust (NET) Peshawar took the session on mentioned theme; she give details the main factors like tension, anger and depression which lead to suicide. she stress that proper counseling can be very effective to control over suicide cases and the HRMCs Members, Doctors, Nurses and teachers can play their role in this regards. She clear that Counseling is a process between two or more people to solve a problem, resolve a crises, creating a new Perspectives and changes within the Person or Group enabling to make decisions and think differently and to change the conditions in the instant Environment. She shared the types, stages and counseling skills with participant’s .Mr. Niaz Ali Shah, Chairperson Legal Awareness Program for Human Right (LAPH) Chitral thanked the resource Person and the participants for taking interest in the training workshop. Dr. Salma Hassan Gynecologist and BOD member of LAPH, Ms Naseem Akhtar, Member of BOD, Ms Rohi Khan Legal Coordinator NET Peshawar, Mr. Ajaz Ahmad BOD Member, Ms Fouzia Bibi M&E Officer LAPH and Mr. Zafar, Finance Officer LAPH were also attended the training workshop.

In order to perceive the impact of the training workshop and implementation of the skills at field levels a Counseling Committees was formed comprising Nurses, Teachers and HRMC members, they ensured to apply the Counseling process on clients at hospital, school and community level.
