Hepatitis cases increase in Chitral

Chitral --.Cases of hepatitis are on the increase in Chitral. Adulterated and contaminated food stuff, and poor health care are supposed to be the major causes of the increase in this disease. Some time back an official of the AKHS wanting not to disclose his identity had told Chitral News that patients of this disease are actually much more than general estimates.

Recently an NGO by the name of 'Peoples Empowerment and Relief Organization' (PERO), has launched hepatitis diagnose campaign, during the initial stages of which four students of a government school were diagnosed as positive carriers of the virus.

It is the need of the time that an extensive blood screening of all residents of the district be carried out by the government / endowed NGOs, to determine the health conditions of the population, specially the younger generation..--CN report, 05 May 2011..
