Flood Relief ?

Flood relief in the present democratic set up is a question mark. It was 6th August 2010, when floods devastated roads and bridges in Chitral district. In mid June 2011, the flood season is likely to come back. It is pity that despite loud claims of rehabilitation the democratic Government could not release a single penny to rehabilitate Airport road and Girls School pedestrian bridge the Chitral town, the home of District Headquarter. For the last 10 months people have repeatedly demanded the rehabilitation of road at Shoghor, Reshun and other places but nobody in the Government has paid any attention to these demands.

I wonder what on earth NDMA and PDMA are doing in this 'Golden democratic government'? I also wonder how billions of dollars collected through aid from donors are being spent and how evaluation teams report on these false spendings?

Somebody in the democratic set up should give answers to these burning questions. -- Bashir Hussain Azad, Chitral 24 May 2011.
