This refers to news reports regarding visit of
Chief Minister nwfp to Chitral in which he announced setting up a
hydel power station
at
Chitral to be named
Benazir hydel station and construction of a by-pass road named
Wali Khan bye pass road. Whereas we Chitralis welcome the announcement
of these two development projects, but naming them after political
personalities is not a good sign.
Experience tells us that when projects are named after
politicians they never see completion because the following government
(which usually is a rival one), makes it a point to fail that project
and the ultimate sufferer is the public. We therefore request the
honourable chief minister
not to insist on naming the projects if he wants them to see the light
of day.
