I am writing to you from the National University of Science and Technology
(NUST) Islamabad. Nust is distinguished as the only university included
among world top 400 universities. Life at nust is thrilling. enjoyable yet
very demanding. My first and only disappointment here was to find the lack
of Chitrali students. Currently I could locate only one other student. There
are around 10 Gilgiti students here, excluding those who have already
graduated. I don't want to imply that Chitrali students don't apply here.
Majority of them don't or are unable to clear the tests.
Our education system at Chitral is at fault-our kids are used to rote
learning. They are not guided about when to apply and where to apply. Our
youth has the brightest of talents in the country -why should it suffer?
Through the forum of Chitral News i would like to appeal to all the
educationists of Chitral to come around to this problem. I know we got very
fine elders who would love to cooperate.
I call for a student seminar before the university admissions start next
year. The seminar should guide the students about different universities,
dates of applying, quotas, scholarships etc. Chitrali students from
different universities of the country should be invited to talk to the
younger ones and guide them. I hope i got the message through and that my
letter helps in making a difference.
