Buying a Govt Job -letter

This is with reference to a news item asking newly recruited NTs to report before Medical Board. The process for recruitment of Naib Tehsildars and Tehsildars in the revenue department of NWFP started in Sep 2006, with screening test. After screening test a lengthy process of interview in the NWFP Public Service Commission went of for 22 months. After the lapse of a long time the results were announced to the astonishment of many people. Those who stood first, 2nd & 5th in the screening test were not selected. Those who had excellent academic record with gold medals of 4 A+ grades in academics were not recommended. Ironically the successful candidates belong to the districts of powerful people in the political set up. Resultantly we have 37 NTs from Mardan and not a single NT from Chitral. How did it happen that none of the 80 candidates from Chitral district was recommended for 18 posts in the unfortunate Zone. I propose, in future, NWFP, Public Service Commission should be dissolved and all posts beyond scale 11, should be filled in through open auction. Those who do not afford to buy a job should not apply for a job.
