Garam Chashma road
-letter
I intend to
highlight the poor condition and slow pace of removing snow from the Chitral
Garamchashma road and mention the problems that the people are
facing. The people of the area have been looking towards the local
government and emerging political figures to resolve this issue.
It has been
noted that all other valley and link roads are now open while Garamchashma
road is still blocked. District Government approach seems to be
discriminative as far as maintenance of roads and re-construction is concerned; Garamchashma Road is given no attention in the pretext of unjustified
reasons like non availability of bulldozers, budget and forecast of snow
fall and tricks from our political leaders.
It is
rather shocking to mention here that due to prolonged blockage of the
Garamchashma Road lasting from January 7 till this date, a dead body of a
soldier of the Chitral Scouts and another dead body from the DHQ Chitral were
carried all the way through to Garamchashma and Karimabad on foot. Number of
critical patients among whom, one patient who was admitted in DHQ Chitral
lost his life after being carried home on foot, A pregnant lady also was deprived of her child
on her way to DHQ hospital near Shogore village.
There are
several other evidences of such complex problems related to survival of the
people that the poor people have been facing. Attempts to move the Local Government
has been less successful, instead, different leaders use different
tactics for deceiving the innocent people of the area and their attitudes
have negative affects on the moral and lives of the people.
Through
this letter, it is requested that political figures contesting
against each other need to put up solid program for the tehsil and then
follow it up diligently.
