Garam Chashma communication woes -letter
Our area Garam Chashma is one of the most unfortunate part of Pakistan with a low standard of communication. Most of our people live away from their homes for quiet long periods of time and they need to communicate with their kith and kin back at home.
Telephone after its emergence has taken over most part of the communication system, and now a days many other kinds of media communication also depend on it e.g. the internet. Our area has got two types telephone systems i.e the ptcl land line and the vptcl or the wireless loop. The later has covered most part of Garam Chashma and people have responded in a positive way and have got connection of this system in great numbers. But, there are many hurdles in the smooth functioning of this system.
the wireless loop system which has recently been introduced in the area is functioning for only 12 hours ie during the day time. The situation is critical and people are anxious that if the system is not working properly during the summers what could be the situation in winter? In winters there is a lot of snow fall and the towers which are being fed by solar system would ultimately die out. In the past the ptcl land line was working smoothly but recently this system has also fallen prey to some unknown disorders. In spite of this the government is reluctant to look into this matter thoroughly. Is this responsibility of the general public to keep these systems in order? The answer might be 10% yes! In the sense that its is public property and everyone should be careful in handling these stuff. With only 12 hours of service of these two systems yet ptcl is charging the full amount of the line rent etc.
The poverty ridden public is waiting for a positive response from the concerned govt authorities to look into this matter seriously and take concrete steps in this regard.
