Islamabad Chitral air service -letter

I fully appreciate the newly inaugurated service of PIA from Islamabad to Chitral. This service will play a major role in solving communication problem of the area and attracting tourism to the valley, specially during the nearby Shandur festival.

This service should not be seen in just a short term perspective. It will go a long way in linking Chitral to the rest of the world and will broaden up the horizon for Chitral ,opening it up beyond Peshawar. Creating a direct link between Chitral and Islamabad might just turn round the economic tables for Chitral (taking Gilgit as an example) and may do something that no government or NGO could do for Chitral.

This is the high time that the Chitrali people should stand up against the few individuals who want to sabotage this service, just for their personal benefits. If we act as mere spectators today, i fear we might not get this opportunity again in the future.
