TV channel to air Khowar Programme

CHITRAL 11 March, 09:  Private TV channel 'Khyber News' would air a one hour Khowar programme weekly on Saturday evenings from 5-6 pm. According to a handout of the Chitral Development Forum (CDF), organizers of the forum headed by its Chairperson Muhammad Wali Khan, had a two hours long meeting with Mr. Kamran Hamid Raja, the Chief Executive Officer of Khyber News, AVT Khyber and K-2 Channels who very graciously announced to begin a one hour weekly programme in Khowar language from the next month to be telecast from Khyber News channel during 5 to 6 pm.

 The Forum thanked Mr. Raja for taking lead in providing time to air first ever regular programme in Khowar language and hoped that this will prove a milestone in socio-cultural development of Chitral and Khowar speaking population of Northern Areas. With reference to one of his visits to Chitral Mr. Raja had all praise both for the people and the scenic beauty of Chitral. He assured the delegation that his channels will take every possible measure to highlight the issues and potentials of Chitral district. He also asked the Forum to work as Board of Governors for managing the said programme. The CDF assured the Chief Executive that Chitral people have a great potential to provide intellectual input in all fields of social life, thus CDF will provide all out support in organizing the programmes. CDF also thanked one of its members Mr. Zhanoyar Baig for developing linkage of CDF with the channel.

CDF requests the readers to suggest a suitable name for the programme and also propose its content structure --(CN report).
