JI terms Swat operation a conspiracy
The News CHITRAL, 01 Aug 08: Provincial chief of Jamaat-e-Islami (JI) Sirajul Haq Thursday held the government responsible for the failure of peace talks with militants in Swat and said that the military operation was being carried out to appease the United States. Addressing a gathering here at Al-Markaz-e-Islami, the JI leader said law and order situation in Swat was created under a conspiracy to pave the way for US-led Nato troops’ operation in the region. “The JI workers will foil US bid to attack the area,” he said, adding the present rulers were fighting the US war against their own people. Siraj warned the government to take note of the US-led Nato forces’ movement along the Pak-Afghan border.
