Chuinj protestors demand water channel repair

CHITRAL, 12 Jul 08: Protestors gathered at the Mastuj police station to stage a sit in against indifferent attitude of the authorities towards the repair of their water channel. Chuinj ANP leader Shahzada Akbar Jalal talking to Chitral News on telephone said water channel of the village has been washed away by the river and adjoining areas have dried up destroying fruit bearing and other useful trees. He said despite repeated appeals, no political leaders or Govt functionaries have paid any heed towards their problem so they have been forced to launch a protest sit in and will continue it till their problem is attended to. --(CN report)
