Passenger vehicles pass through
Lowari Tunnel
CHITRAL 05 March, 09: It came as a
pleasant surprise to Chitralis when the National Highway Authority, for
the first time, formally ferried 32 passengers , each way through the
Lowari Tunnel in two requisitioned Toyota Hi-ace vans, carrying 16 passengers each, on
Thursday noon (between 1200-1300 hrs). No fare was charged from the passengers.
It is expected that the arrangement would continue on a daily basis,
until the tunnel is fully commissioned. --(CN report).
