Shandur polo from 7-9 July

CHITRAL, 02 July 08: Preparations are in full swing for the Shandur polo festival due from 7-9 July. Chitral is making arrangements for the event. Besides a large number of spectators, a host of VIPs including federal and provincial ministers are expected to witness the polo matches. Mobile company 'Telenor' is sponsoring the event this year. The matches shall be telecast live on PTV. Federal Minister for sports Najmuddin Khan is expected to be the chief guest of the concluding day final match between Chitral and Gilgit polo teams. --(CN report)
