Corruption in the Education system

CHITRAL, 26 June 08: The higher authorities of Board of intermediate and secondary education Peshawar have ordered cancellation of the practical examination of computer science of F.Sc part I and II in a Chitral center of practical examination, as the practical examiner had allegedly demanded illegal gratification for giving pass marks to the students, sources said. The source disclosed that the principals of two private colleges of Chitral had approached the district nazim and district coordination officer with the complaint that the examiner is demanding a heavy amount of money as gratification to pass all their students. The principals also provided them with proof in the form of recorded computer disc containing the conversation of the examiner in which he had allegedly demanded gratification. The Chitral DCO approached the board authorities and on production of the proof, the board authorities cancelled the practical examination of the center of Langlands School and College. However, the date of the re-examination has yet to be announced. (Zahiruddin)
