District Nazim visits Torkhow
CHITRAL, 14
June 08: District nazim Chitral Maghfirat Shah has said that the district
government is short of financial resources which badly hampers development
works and no effective measurements can be taken to fight poverty.
Addressing a gathering at Melp village here on Saturday, he said that
despite the financial crunch, a good number of projects aimed at rapid
progress of the remote areas have been undertaken during the years.
The nazim announced one million rupees for the improvement and realignment
of Rayeen to Melp road. He also announced to solve the problems of the
establishment of health unit, improvement of the village high school and
establishment of sales point of food department to provide them with wheat
on their doorsteps. Later on, he addressed another gathering at Rayeen
village and announced to solve the frequent of load shedding of electricity
by taking up the matter with Small Hydel Development Authority (SHYDO)

Torkhow residents demand Camp court
CHITRAL, 14 June 08: Keeping in mind harsh travelling
conditions and other compulsions, the residents of Torkhow including
prominent social worker of the area Qeemat Nazim Baig have appealed to the
Governor NWFP and Chief Justice Peshawar High Court for approval of a Camp
Court at Tehsil Torkhow to minimize problems of the area. They also appealed
to Chief Justice Peshawar High Court for approval of deputing a Civil
Judge/Judicial Magistrate on permanent basis in the area. . --(GH
