CHITRAL, 03 May 08: Telephone Exchange of Torkhow at Ghordamirap was damaged by unknown miscreants at night time, as a result 350 consumers were deprived of the facility. As there is no watchman for night duty in the said telephone exchange and repeater station. Some unknown persons entered the repeater station damaged the machineriy and took away batteries and other equipment. It is worth mentioning that telephone lines in some areas are continuously faulty and out of order. Consumers of Torkoh and other areas warned so many times of disconnecting their telephone connections and submitting telephone sets at Exchanges but no one paid heed. It seems that some angry consumers have damaged the telephone exchange after being frustrated with PTCL performance which is very poor. --(GH Farooqi)
