Two boys drown in Torkhow river: CHITRAL, 01 Apr 08: Twin brothers aged 11 years lost their lives after drowning in the river at Washich Torkhow while fishing. Altafuddin and Fahimuddin were the children of Nabi Khan. Their bodies were later recovered from the river. (MMAS Kakakhel)

Lowari opening delay regretted: CHITRAL, 01 Apr 08: Chitralis have regretted the undue delay in opening of the Lowari pass road for traffic. People say there is no reason for this prolonged delay despite good weather and heavy equipment being present with the National Highway Authority for the purpose.. Some observers even thought that the hoarder traders of Chitral have bribed the NHA bulldozer operators to slowdown the job so that they can exhaust their hoarded stuff at sky high prices to the public, on the pretext of the closure of the Lowari pass. It may be noted that Chitralis were expecting the Lowari pass to open in the first week of March this year, but it has not opened till now. (CN report).
