Liquor, Hashish seized:

CHITRAL, 23 March 08:  Chitral police seized 105 liters of local brew and 500 grams of hashish from would be smugglers on the Orghoch road and arrested three persons in this connection. The liquor was coming from the Kalash valley of Rumboor where brewing is allowed for the non Muslims and many Chitralis fond of having a drink or two to drown their frustrations, avail the facility by either visiting the area or buying the ‘smuggled’ liquor at high prices in Chitral town and other areas where brewing is prohibited by law. Eid Milaad celebrated:

CHITRAL, 23 March 08: Eid Milaad un Nabi was celebrated in a simple but graceful manner in Chitral town. At a function at the Govt Centennial High School, children presented Hamd sharif and Naaat sharif  on the holy occasion. Khatib Shahi Masjid, Moulana Khaliq uz Zaman was chief guest on the occasion. Jashne Nouroze celebrated:

CHITRAL, 23 March 08: Jashne Nouroze, the occasion of the summer solstice and advent of a new year according to ancient Persian traditions was observed by members of the Ismaili community on 21 March. Ismailis particularly in the Garam Chashma area observe the occasion with fervour, wear new clothes and frolic welcoming the new year. (MMAS Kakakhel)

Appeal for Financial Assistance:

Aurangzeb S/O Fazal Dad is a poor fellow. He suffers from kidney failure. The treatment of this disease costs more than 3 lac rupees which the poor patient cannot bear on his own. Mr Aurangzeb has appealed philanthropists and kindhearted citizens to raise donations for the treatment of his fatal disease.
