JI protests blasphemous cartoons

CHITRAL, 18 Mar 08: Religio-political party Jamaat Islami protested the publication of blasphemous cartoons in Denmark. A rally was held which culminated into a protest meeting at the Ataliq Chowk Chitral bazaar Monday afternoon. Those who addressed the meeting included former MNA Moulana Abdul Akbar Chitrali, former JI Amir Sher Aziz, sitting JI Amir Ghulam Muhammad, etc. Speakers castigated the Danish Govt for failing to stop the publication of insulting cartoons. They also demanded extradition of a Danish national running a school in Chitral. (CN report)
