Oath taking held at Press club
CHITRAL, 23 Jan 08: Oath taking Ceremony of the office bearers of Chitral
Press Club was held here Wednesday. Medical Superintendent DHQ hospital Dr.
Nazir Ahmad Khan presided over the
meeting while former DPO Mohammad Saeed Khan Lal was Chief guest who
gave oath of the office to Zahiruddin President, Jahangir Jigar
vice-president, Taj Mohammad Figar office secretary, M.Rahim Baig
General secretary and Noor Afzal Khan treasurer. Speaking on this occasion,
the president of press club Zahiruddin expressed his determination to wage
war through the print and electronic media against social evils, hoarding,
profiteering, drug trafficking, corruption and injustices. Mohammad Saeed
and Dr. Nazir Ahmed, speaking on the occasion, said that the local press is
discharging its duty with earnestness and honesty. They said that the role
of Chitral press in the regional development is growing fast and becoming
more prominent with the passage of time, which is a good omen. They said
that the journalists of Chitral are not less than that of the other areas in
any respect who have always evinced their impartiality and unbiasedness in
all controversial issues. The function was attended by elite, political
figures, and heads of different departments and members of civil society.
