PPPP tells candidates:
Parliamentary boards will decide tickets
The News
PESHAWAR: The Pakistan People’s Party Parliamentarians (PPPP) NWFP
spokesman asked district-level party candidates to stop proposing
their names to the provincial and national assemblies for the
general elections, stating that the PPPP’s central and provincial
parliamentary boards would decide the matter.
Expressing concern over party leaders from Chitral and other
districts proposing their names for provincial and national assembly
seats, in a statement issued on Friday, the spokesman said the party
had not yet taken any decisions as far as issuing party tickets was
concerned. The party will constitute parliamentary boards to make
such decisions, he said.
“PPPP’s parliamentary boards will select candidates on the basis of
their previous records, and a list of candidates will be forwarded
to PPPP Chairperson Benazir Bhutto for the final decision,” reads
the statement.
