CHITRAL, 11 August 2007 - The official and only landline communication provider PTCL service was badly corrupted on Thursday and till Mid Friday until restored. PTCL breakdowns where calls cannot be connected and internet service becomes unavailable are becoming frequent in Chitral. Wireless loop service provided by PTCL to the tehsil areas is already an apology as the service in such areas does not operate after sunset due to discharging of the batteries.

Already under the worst possible mis-service of the electricity providing agencies, the telephone service deterioration is an addition to the woes of this district. (Bashir Hussain Azad)
