PPP eyes success in elections
CHITRAL, 01 Aug 07: A meeting of office bearers, Nazims, party ticket applicants and workers of the Pakistan People's Party was held in the District assembly hall Chitral, chaired by the District President Zainul Abedin. Speakers expressed the need to maintain unity in the rank and file of the party at all stages including the allocation of tickets for the forth coming General elections.
Addressing the meeting, Wg Cdr (r) Fardad Ali Shah, the expected party candidate for the National Assembly said the forthcoming elections were very important, as, soon due to opening of the Lowari tunnel, Chitral would merge with mainstream Pakistan and this development would present many challenges along with the obvious benefits. It is at this time that leadership with vision and capability is most needed to safeguard Chitral's collective interests and to put it on the right track right at the beginning of the new era, he said. He paid rich tributes to Mohtarma Benazir Bhutto for her clear, bold vision and effective leadership.
Thanking the rank and file, workers and voters of the party all over the district for expressing satisfaction and allowing him the chance to serve them, he warned those in the habit of conspiring against the Party from outside or through planted agents to desist from any cowardly tactics and let the party which has the aspirations of the downtrodden people on it's liability list, to flourish and deliver.
Party leaders and workers spoke at length on issues specially on the forth coming elections and vowed that decisions of the high command regarding allocation of party tickets for the National and Provincial Assemblies would be accepted whole heartedly.
