... For the Love of Chitral

Islamabad-Chitral flight plying full capacity

CHITRAL, 16 July 07: The Islamabad- Chitral direct flight which was inaugurated on May 15 and which initially faced resistance from the PIA staff itself, is now firmly consolidating with flights operating at full occupancy level and more and more passengers being attracted to the new service progressively.

The service, a longstanding demand of the the Chitrali people which should have been met years ago but for the apathy of elected representatives was only made possible this year after pursuance of some non elected influential individuals in their personal capacity. This service has opened up a new horizon for Chitralis, besides proving an immediate boost to tourism in the area.

Chitralis living and working in cities other than Peshawar including Rawalpindi Islamabad, Lahore, Karachi and other cities of Pakistan (who far outnumber those living/working in Peshawar), have described it as a blessing for them and demanded the flight be operated on a daily basis instead of the present four flights a week.

Meanwhile sources at the PIA office in Chitral have disclosed to  Chitral News that with passage of time demand for seats on the Chitral-Islamabad flight is getting much heavier than demand for seats on the Chitral-Peshawar flight.
