Shandur Polo results

CHITRAL, 08 Jul 07: The annual Shandur festival commenced at the 12000 ft above sea level plateau, on 7 July with a polo match between traditional rivals Chitral D and Gilgit D teams. After a well contested match Chitral D emerged victorious with 11 goals against 3 scored by Gilgit D. Colonel (rtd) Khushwaqt ul Mulk was chief guest on the occasion. In the second match held in the evening Laspur beat Ghizer. In the third match of the tournament played on 8 July morning, Gilgit C beat Chitral C by 6 goals to 4. In the evening match on 8 July, Chitral B beat gilgit B by 6 goals to 1. Readers may also view the final match live on PTV1 on 9 feb at around 1100 hrs. (GH Farooqi))
