Scouts win Polo trophy

CHITRAL, 17 Jun 07:  In the final game of the  District Government Polo Cup tournament 2007 played between Chitral Scouts and Mastuj team, the former emerged as the winner. Mastuj scored first goal in first 5th minute but Chitral Scouts equalized the score soon. Chitral Scouts scored 6 goals while Mastuj team scored only 3 goals. Havaldar Raza Khan was declared Man of the Tournament while Naik Shahzad Ahmad was termed man of the match. District Nazim Chitral Haji Maghfirat Shah was chief guest on the occasion while District Coordination Officer Chitral Kamran Rehman Khan, District Police Officer Ijaz Ahmad Khan, Maj. Sajid Bagri officiating commandant Chitral scouts along with a large number of civil and military officers were also present on the occasion. Addressing the ceremony District Nazim said that I appreciate Gobor polo team which area was struck by avalanches last winter  but even than these people participated in the polo tournament.  Later on he awarded trophy and cup to winner and runner up team. More than 15000 people were present in polo ground to watch the final match. (GH Farooqi)
