CJ PHC, visits Chitral

CHITRAL, 15 Jun 07:  Chief Justice Peshawar High Court Mr. Justice Tariq Parvez visited Chitral on a private trip. He met Chitral Bar Association members where he was given a warm welcome and a tea party by lawyers of Chitral at a local hotel. All lawyers of Chitral including members of Booni and Drosh Bar also were present on the occasion. Muhammad Hakeem Khan Advocate president Chitral Bar Association presented welcome address. He said that lawyers of Pakistan were facing a critical situation these days. He hailed courage of Tariq Parvez on presenting a warm welcome to Chief Justice of Pakistan Iftikhar Choudhry on his visit to Peshawar High Court. He demanded for construction of a Library in Chitral judicial property and fulfilling of vacant posts of civil judges at Chitral. He also demanded for approval of Additional Session Judge at Mastuj sub division. He said that Civil Judges I and II of Chitral were having no court room and lawyers of Chitral presented them 2 rooms of bar room but now they are facing great problems and separate courts room should be constructed for Civil Judges.

 

President Booni Bar Association Attaullah Shah also presented welcome address and demanded for Record Room at Booni as the people have to travel to Chitral for collecting attested copies of their cases. He also demanded permanent Judge for Mastuj and said that all other departments were having their own building but Judiciary did not. He also demanded for office and residential quarters for judicial staff including civil judge Booni.

 

Chief Justice Tariq Parvez assured them of solving their problems within a week and announced books worth Rs 30,000. He said that there is a strong relation between Bench and Bar and we should try to enhance it. He said that a new building will be build only to solve accommodation problems of Bench and Bar. He said that interview of some 21 male and 13 female civil judges have been conducted and I will post one Civil Judge to Chitral.  He said that we have released some 2 million of fund to each district and Chitral will never be ignored. He also announced books worth Rs 10000 for Booni Bar room. (GH Farooqi)

 

5 injured in a road mishap

 

CHITRAL, 15 Jun 07: At least 5 passengers were injured badly when a passenger jeep ran into a heavy stone on it's way from Lone to Chitral. according to details when a jeep carrying some passengers from Lone (Mulkho) to Chitral reached to Ragh lusht, a goat suddenly appeared in front and tryibg to avoid the goat, the jeep hit a stone as a result it overturned badly injuring at least 5 people including the driver. Those who were injured are identified as Shah Yousuf of Kujoo Bala who is serious having spinal chord injury, Abdul Wali Khan of Kujoo, Sikandar Murad of Lone, Haji Ahmad of Kujoo, M. Habeeb of Lone, Shah Wali Driver and Hussain Ahmad of Lone. The injured were immediately rushed to District Headquarters Hospital Chitral and they are under treatment. (GH Farooqi)
