CHITRAL, 19 May 07::: District Nazim Chitral, Haji Maghfirat Shah has alleged that Federal Minister for Political Affairs Amir Muqam is deliberately driving a wedge between President Pervez Musharraf and the district government of Chitral.

Addressing a special session of the district council here on Saturday, followed by a press conference which was attended by Tehsil Nazim Chitral Sartaj Ahmad Khan and 12 Union Council Nazims, he said the minister was trying to create a law and order situation in Chitral by pitting different political parties against each other.

He claimed that the district government was ignored in the appropriation of Rs100m that had been allocated by the president on his visit to Chitral last year.

He said the district government would resist the misappropriation of the presidential funds and warned that the public passion was running high on the issue which could spill out of control and a Karachi like situation may ensue.

He urged President Musharraf to take a notice of the situation. (Zahiruddin))
