           Brep bridge to be reconstructed

 

CHITRAL,16 Jan 07: A meeting of UC Yarkhoon  held in Marting village  discussed current issues of the area including reconstruction of Brep Bridge damaged during last summer besides other issues.

 

The Nazim Muhammad Wazir Khan briefed the councilors about his efforts made for overcoming the problems of Yarkhoon valley. Later on, a group of notables from Bang and Miragram met the Union Nazim. He briefed them about his endeavors to highlight the educational, health, social, and communication problems of Yarkhoon valley at different forums.

 

The delegation expressed satisfaction over the recent development projects and assured their full support to the Union Council. The Nazim also addressed a large public gathering at Brep village and briefed them about the UC's efforts to bring Yarkhoon valley at par with other relatively developed areas of the district. He said that he had succeeded to bring projects worth more than thirty million rupees to the valley within a short span of a year’s time. He said that he needed support of people to accomplish development projects.

 

 Knowing about projects the people expressed their happiness and assured their full support in that regard. Nazim said that he had talked to the concerned department to immediately call tender to start work on the collapsed Brep Bridge. Sources from Chitral however, add that tenders for reconstruction of Brep Bridge have been called and the contract has been awarded as earlier announced by the Union Nazim. (Tariq Mehmood)
