               Arandu forest issue resolved.


CHITRAL, 08 Dec 06: District Nazim Chitral Haji Maghfirat Shah stressed upon the people of Arandu to allow no one to  cut their forest illegally. This he said while presiding over a  compromise meeting of 5 tribes of Arandu a Pak Afghan border village some 80 KM south of Chitral town.


  The participants  unanimously signed an agreement and affidavit to  live peacefully and unitedly and no one be allowed for illegal cutting of forest in Arandu area. District Nazim said we want to promote Arandu area because that is situated on the Pak Afghan border if they are happy and strong our border will be safe. Tehsil Nazim Chitral Sartaj Ahmad Khan stressed upon the people of Arandu to get more and more education. He said more than 10 million will be spent on different uplift schemes of Arandu.


Nazim UC Arandu, Nazim Chitral one and Naib Nazim Charun, were also present on the occasion. It is worth mentioning that Arandu possesses a rich forest and some people belonging to Afghanistan and Dir were involved in illegal cutting of the forest and its smuggling to Afghanistan and other areas due to disunity amongst the Arandu People. Tehsil Nazim on the complaint of UC Arandu Nazim assured him that Non Custom Paid (NCP) vehicles problem would also be solved. (GH Farooqi)
