Usage of Tunnel should continue demand users

CHITRAL 06 Apr 10: Lowari pass road has been cleared for light traffic said Project Director Liaquat Ali talking to our correspondent. Meanwhile Chitrali passengers have demanded continued usage of the tunnel until full fledged work actually starts within it. The usage of tunnel has resulted in gross savings in fuel, time, wear and tear of both vehicles and passengers and psychological stress. Any attempt to close the tunnel for vehicles when no work is going on inside would be an unreasonable and mean decision on the part of the tunnel authorities. It is hoped that better sense prevails and the tunnel is allowed usage for all vehicles 12 hours a day (from 8 am to 8 pm) until issues with the Korean Company are resolved and round the clock finishing work inside the main tunnel resumed.  --(CN report)
