Thanks for the achievement -letter

 

We are highly obliged to Zulfiqar Ahmad for the excellent job he has done in the interest of the people of Chitral town posting out the persona non grata from WAPDA Chitral.. In fact he has done the job that was declared impossible by present and previous MNAs, MPAs District Nazim etc.  It appears all were obliged to him. Thank you very much Zulfiqar (Garum Aroooo)

Journalist achieves the 'impossible' 

CHITRAL, 12 Mar 10: Despite repeated demands of the electricity consumers of Chitral town to  transfer the line distribution superintendant, who is entrenched in his seat for the last 30 years and is widely believed to be misappropriating electric power and pitching the people of different villages against each other using the electricity deficit tool, the incumbent was continuing in his job with impunity. Political leaders, including elected representatives had expressed inability to post out the official giving one excuse or the other.

The Herculean feat was nevertheless accomplished by a lone Chitrali journalist based in Islamabad. Zulfiqar Ahmad staff reporter of the daily 'Business recorder', first took up the matter through Senator Zahid Khan in the Senate.Standing Committee for power. When that too didn't work he personally contacted the MD PEPCO and then the Chairman WAPDA, pressing them constantly to do the needful. Eventually on Friday he was told by the XEN at Timergara that the posting of the said official had taken effect and he had signed his joining in at Timergara.

Posting out of an overstaying controversial official of WAPDA though apparently a small  matter had become virtually impossible due to the frightening magnitude of decaying governance in Pakistan. A journalist has proved that every individual can contribute in bringing the state of affairs in Pakistan to normalcy and nobody should give up and endure corruption as a fait accompli-- Well done Zulfiqar, the people of Chitral town Thank you !!. .--( CN report)
